IANG: the standard route for non-local graduates to stay

• IANG = Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates.
• It lets non-local graduates who have completed a full-time programme and taken a degree in Hong Kong apply to stay and work here.

The other two routes

• Both are administered by the Hong Kong Immigration Department; the conditions and durations differ, so check the Immigration Department's own wording before applying.
• If your limit of stay is running out and your employment is not settled, you need to apply separately to extend your limit of stay.

If you want to keep studying

Things to do before you graduate

1. Confirm how you collect your transcript and graduation certificate (ARRO).
2. If you plan to stay in Hong Kong, look into IANG requirements and timing early.
3. If you plan to return to the Mainland or go elsewhere, watch the end date of your student visa and limit of stay, and arrange documents such as proof of residence in Hong Kong.
4. Accommodation: there is no hall guarantee from year three onwards, so the final year is usually off campus — plan the handover and the move in advance.
